It’s the little things that make a difference in life – a smile, a touch, a kind word of encouragement, a chocolate at the end of a long day, a back rub (or back tickle in my case). So too is it the little touches in our homes that make them special. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes as the kids come in the door from school, a special blanket or cushion that has grown up with them, a toy that has been loved till it’s ear has fallen off, photographs that show memories of all we have done – how we have laughed and loved. Little things can make our homes look loved and cared for -the inexpensive ways to stamp our personal identity in our homes that make it inviting to those who cross the threshold. Today I made a little thing into a pretty display. I took 3 empty wine bottles ( don’t panic, I didn’t drink them all – not drowning my sorrows with Hubby away) and I cleaned them up. These make lovely vases to put in a flower stem or two. I only had some roses (rather sad looking ones at that) but it still makes a pretty display. This is a great way to brighten up your home if buying bunches of flowers is too expensive. One bunch can be divided into a number of little bottles and displayed around your home.
